Holley 600+GSL-SE = ???
Holley 600+GSL-SE = ???
I'm currently having some problems with the fuel injection system on my GSL-SE. The 5th and 6th ports have a bit too much carbon in them making the sleeves too difficult for the actuators (I think). I also am not a fan of all the emissions devices and the mess of wires, plus the stock intake manifold design is pretty bad.
So i stumbled across the stock port 6-port holley carb system offered by mazdatrix/racing beat. I was wondering how much power I could make with this setup with a RB collected header, and also what kind of gas mileage I could get (if jetted properly). I'm also doing this in the interest of saving a few pounds, as the car is already down to 2300lbs. and I'm looking for things to take off (still have A/C, air pump, heavy exhaust though).
I'd love to hear feedback from anyone with a Holley setup, but specifically the 6-port 600cfm kit.

i run it, it sure simplifies things and you end up removing quite a bit to slap it on. as for power increases, i guess there are some but you also have to weigh in the loses of EFI; throttle response, smooth startups, no hesistation, etc.
i personally would rather be EFI, but living in cali you wont have to deal with the colder temps here that have doomed my holley so it should be ok. just plan on adjusting the carb daily for awhile til you get it right.

I have one and wouldn't recomend it.
Go with a weber. My friends have side drafts and they seem way easier to tune and way less likely to stumble and choke in auto x type situations.
It's a thousand bucks I should have put towards a standalone.
