High Temp

I overheated my engine and now it runs real hot. I have had the radiator rotted, water pump replaced, thermostat replaced, and bought a new radiator cap. It still runs hot. I stop driving it after about 15 minutes. I think it would probably overheat again if I kept going for any longer. The car setup for about a year and a half after it overheated. Anyone have any ideas what to do next? Should consider a new engine or rebuild this one? Is there something I'm missing? Any help is appreciated.

Rob

im having a very similar problem, so far a i have a new waterpump, thermostat, water temp sender, i checked the guage - works fine, clutch fan is working properly too, flushed system, monday im going to get the radiator recored and then see if its all better.

you need to make sure the fan is working right, and that the water temp sender and gauge are working.

you have to do this with the car completely cooled off.....disconnect the wire going to the sender. using an ohmmeter/multimeter, touch one lead to the thing the wire connects to and one lead to the ground strap. if the sender is in good condition you should get around 233 ohms.

but yea, most likely your clutch fan is shot. with the car off, try and spin it. if it spins VERY FREELY then it's probably shot. if it's got some tug then it's hard to tell. LOL, that's my ghetto way of checking.
