Thats provided your amp is 100% efficent at turning those "amps" into "watts".
In a real world amps don't come close to 100% so you will have to have even more power.

Ok, i finally got an answer after i went thru their website, www.boschusa.com and
punched every application i could think of and none of their high amp systems showed up. So i called them today. As usual, they are not making any for our vehicles and will probably never make them for 1st gens. They may make for fc's and fd's and heavy on the maybe. The amperage ratings they had i believe were from approx 120 thru 235amps varying on the vehicle. of course they offered the 235amp for a honda. Probably figured that after they fixed up their hondas they could not afford to live anywhere so they would have the need for a microwave, tv,
and other appliances in their car, lol. On the plus side, if you really are interesed in a high amp alternator check with your local automotive starter/alternator rebuilder and they can tell you what they can and cant do for you. rx7doctor

I was checking out the post and you guys are misssing out on alot of things.
Some one wrote stuff about amps in the 70s and 80s----you mean more like the 80s and the difference between then and now is back then the big powerfull amps were high current amps,now if you where to take an orion amp like a dcca it would draw so much current at 1 ohm it would kill your electrical,now if you were to buy a d class amp--that puts out 800 true rms watts it wouldnt kill it because its not a high current amp and does not take alot of power to run it,thats why amps use classes now,a,d,tube drivers and such--a real true d class amp thats 1/2 ohm stable is alot of money but if its alot of power your looking for and not alot of draw on your power--you should check those out.

like I said--they are high current amps,been around for over 20 years
hc=high current--and your right they say 50 watts--lol--my *** ---really nice amps
**** remember the old school punch 45,or the old hifonics amps,or better yet,those damn a.d.s and linear power amps would suck any battery dry.
