I'd do anything to have the money to do my stereo right now.... I really am getting sick of just having a crappy AM/FM stereo =)

(My plans:
Sony MD head of some variety, CD changer, JBL P1020D sub in a custom box, Kenwood 2ways to replace the stock speakers in front, and some type of 3way for the pair in the back)

yeah, i'm finally about to replace what was stolen out of my car (Blaupunkt Headunit, Infinity Kappa 6x9's in boxes in the back) i havent had a radio for a month, and my old system kicked ***.

now, i have money, and i'm replacing the stuff with some 6.5" kappa components in the rear locations and 2 infinity kappa perfect 10s right behind the front seats in a custom storage bin based box powered by a 500w rms amp. and the 6.5"S and 4" kappas powered by 75w RMSx4.

it should be nice

Nice choice, my system is simalar to yours, Kenwood Excellon all the way around, eight speakers total. 4-1/2" in the front, 6-1/2" Components in the rear, and two 10" subs. I want to add a four channel amp for the periferal speakers, I find the subs over power them connected to the stock head.

You may find the same thing as well.

So here is the fun in a loud sterio...

Go out and see how many soccer moms and busness men you can make roll up their windows while they are talking on a cell phone.

They usually give me dirty look or the finger, or tell me to turn it down.

T pretend I cant hear them, and usually turn it up.

Its pritty funny

Enjoy your new system

Try having a Pioneer DEHP6300 and a set of JL Evolution series 6x9, powered by a Excelon 400 watt Kenwood amp, and coming out to your car one morning and finding it all gone, and your passanger door locak and door are torn to ****.
Havent had a radio in my car for about a year.

Personally I'm not into the stereo for 'BOOM BOOM BOOM'.... I just like really high fidelity music with a flat response curve =)
(i.e., the bass sounds exactly how it should in proportion to the mids and highs)

I'm hoping the 7 will be great for creating such a setup-- and I'm pretty convinced it will due to the shape of the interior...

I have yet to see a 7 with a nice stereo out in the real world, but I'm impressed with some of the stuff I've seen here.....
