First of, i am incredibly paranoid of rust. How is the under chassis, and the tire wells (both inside and out). Is there anyway i could get a pic to see how bad it is?
Email: Billybombatch@yahoo.com I can try to get you a picture of it. I have had the car since 1998 and the rust hasnt gotten any worse. It has the usual rust in the wheel wells. The quarter on the drivers side has a little. You got to remember that you can do some mini tubs in the back and completely loose the inner wheel wells. I have a guy here in Owensboro that is awesome in doing this, hes done it his whole life. I would recommend a roll cage, he said somehwere around a 1000 for a roll cage and min tubs! Thats pretty cheap. Also the rear quarter would be covered up comepletely with the mariah kit. The can completely cut out all rust and replace with aluminum or more steel, and they do this and dont have to be pretty about it. That makes it way cheaper. I was told $250-350 to do the rear quarters. And get it ready with a fresh coat of primer for some new paint. i can turn you onto all these people and get that stuff taken care of here. They both do great work and are into those respective buisness'.
Second, i don't know if i overlooked this or not, but what model is it. Is it a gsl, or a SE? Just wondering if im going to need to do some suspension work. I have an SE, and swapping the suspension over might be something to consider.
The car started life as a GS, it now has the same options as a GSL.
Also, does it have, or have you removed the power steering and the A/C. Also, is it still oil injected, or did you remove that and just premix?
The AC was removed. It never had power steering. This is a race car sort to speak, you dont need that bullcrap on there taking up space and adding weight.
And of course the basic questions, is the frame straight? or has it been in any wrecks? Any information you can supply will be greatly appreciated.
When I got the car it had been in a very very mild wreck. There was no frame damage , just superficial metal damage. However there a small place on the right side where the headlight goes that has been straightened.
Thanks,
Billy

It is sad but once you get one of these cars over $2500 it is very hard to sell. I love the car but with my wife in school there is just not any spare cash to put on another project. Hope it goes up some more.

now thats funny, I get at least a whopping $575 from the insurance company, thats all its worth
MIke, I see the auction ended. Sorry you didn't get a solid offer. Just a thought: I would bet if the smoking problem was resolved, you would have more bidders. I think it's scaring off some bidders more than the tuning issue.
I'd also pull of the Mariah stuff and sell it seperately... it may help you get more money out of the car.

Got it, but Jan or Feb is of no interest to me. When you get back to the states the car will be in parts. Im pissed now, I was just wanting to sell it and rid myself of a headache and/or project with no time. But now, Im gonna make sure I recoup some of my substantial invesment.
Thanks anyways.

Yeah, I completely understand. It makes sense that you want to sell it in parts now, but what kills me is that I STILL cant afford to buy the engine/tranny/driveline/ECU parts to make mine a turbo car.
I mean, the shell isnt worth much as well all know, so of couse I need all the expensive crap, lol. I already have the worthless shell to put it in, lol.

PS - Maybe after you drive it there, youll remember how much you love it and you wont stirip it down and keep it!
