Exclamation help!! ...so close..

k so i put another ebgine in again, still a 12a but after i hooked up everything and ent to turn it iver the starter would get power and instead of turning over the engine it just hits once.. i had this issue before and i think it was bad wiring connections or the ground but i'd like to hear everyone's suggestions.. also any good ideas on getting a stripped starter bolt out?

Weak battery or bad ground would be first guesses.

If the starter bolt that is stripped is the same one that carries the ground cable connection, then I'd say work there first.

Is the bolt's head stripped, or are the threads stripped?

Battery ground needs to be as close to the starter as possible. Not sure if that alone would cause your problem, but it was done that way originally for a reason, to lower resistance.

At the currents required to run a starter, it doesn't take much resistance all to dissipate a great deal of your available power.
