HELP! removed rats nest, car wont run! HELP ME! i have until 1:30pm left

Ok, we removed the rat's nest according to the tutorial with no trouble at all, we plugged all the things that need to be plugged, and ran all the lines. We have the frikin' huge lines left over and unused, we didnt find what to do with those. THe car will run and idle (poorly) but as soon as it goes into gear (its an automatic) it dies, be it Drive or Reverse. I am in my school shop until 2:30, and it HAS TO be done by then.

vac leak.

Spray around some carb cleaner or starter fluid around the carb (not into the carb though). When the idle changes that is your leak.

The hunge lines you are talking about are for the crankcase ventalation system. Go over that section of the tutorial again. Good luck.

It would have to be one mother of a vac leak if you can't even drive the car! Should be hissing like a snake under there - and you should hear it without spaying any flammables

My auto Cosmo did that untill I found the vacuum leak. I didn't need to spray any WD40 to find it, luckily.

There's a valve or something that Auto Tranny 7s have which standards don't... I can't remember where it is, but search for a copy of the 12a emissions diagram and look for anything that says A/T only.

Someone could probably post it. There's a copy of it in the Heynes, in the Factory Manual and on the inside of the hood (uber small, hard to read)

Jon, your speaking of the kickdown line. Its a vacuum hose that comes off the intake manifold and goes down to the transmission. That shouldnt be messed with at all.

Yea, you got a vacuum leak. Find it and fix it. Go over the tutorial again step by step and make sure you didnt miss anything.
