help!! poly bushings--SQUEAK--
I am getting ready to put in all the bushings and I am VERY concerned about SQUEAKS. What are you guys doing to insure squeakless bushings??? I have heard soaking them in RED LINE MTL fluid, wrapping the sway bar with teflon tape ...I just don't know...What success have you had. Did you just pack /grease the heck out of them? Thanks for your help and suggestions....cjf
I'm sure there are some steps that could be taken to minimize squeking, but poly bushings are very prone to it so I doubt there's anything that will altogether eliminate it. My philosophy, squeking is a small price to pay for better handling. Besides, a poly bushing upgrade is not necessary for a street car as new rubber bushings will get the job done just fine. Of course, this is just my view on the subject and I'm sure someone will chime in and tell you how to do it.

I used the grease that was supplied with the bushings and applied it as specified. (aka: I read the directions) I do not have squeaks.

Condores,
Try and grease the hell out of all the steel sleaves and the sides on the bushes that are in contact with the mounting points.
Try and keep the grease away from the out side sources where it will pick up dirt and road grime.
Do you know about not fitting the poly bushings to the rear upper arms??? if not read the tech section on it in my website (link below)
The grease wont last forever, so it might be worth cleaning and re-greasing the bushes once every 9-12 months
That is a very untrue statement! correctly installed and greases poly bushes not only will hold the steering gemomentry more true than the rubber bushings they also allow the the suspension piovt points to move freely and let your shocks and springs do the job of controling the bumps and ride rather than the twisting & binding of a rubber bush taking up part of the load

. I was under the impression that because street use is so un-demanding in terms of steering response it wouldn't be a worthwhile upgrade.
