Am starting for the first time in a few weeks and there is a light on the dash that looks like - (!)......
What the *** is this?

look like the brake light, check the level of the fluid in the master cylinder

cheers mate, been driving mums hyundai so have developed a touch of down syndrome from no bridge rocking...

Certainly a brake light. Check that the E-brake isn't on (or the cable isn't being gay)
