Help new RX-7 owner with problems

Just got my RX-7 GSL (84) has only 81,000 kms on it. Anyway the clutch doesn't seem to be working properly, the car is slow to take off and slows down going up hills, also loses power when going through the gears, especially in 1st and 2nd, I thought it was a carb problem, but a buddy of mine says it could be the clutch needs to be replaced. Anybody have any other ideas. Can the clutch be adjusted?

Does the RPM's come up and the car doesnt move accordingly? If so then yes you have a clutch problem. No adjustment since its hydraulic, but you could have a problem in the actuating system.

Thanks, not knowing the car, is the clutch and expensive fix, do they have to be replaced or can they be rebuilt. Can the actuating problem be fixed or does it have to be replaced. Anybody know the cost in Canadian dollars for these repairs.
Thanks
