Help me out!

About two monthes ago I got into a car accident and totalled my truck. I now have a Jeep as a temporary vehicle. In a few monthes I want to buy an FB3s but I'm not familiar with them. I'd like to know what to look for when I'm shopping, also what can be done for bolt on performance with the stock motor. Any information would be awesome!

Look for free or cheap if your good with a wrench. Expect to pay $1-2.5k for a decent FB. Expect to pay nothing to 500 for one that's "down on it's luck" (which may provide a running engine and a decent body if the engine is carbon locked).

Common rust spots to look for and common performance mods can be found in the FAQ though. Good look. Try to find your local RX-7 group and see if anyone has one for sale (or knows someone).

look for bin rust...or inner fender well rot in the rear...take a screw driver with you and poke around not too hard...lol...don't want to poke a hole just see where the steel is thin...for a car with little rust and a running motor pay no more than $1000...for a car with no rust and a non-running motor don't pay more than $1000...for a car with 1 spot of rust to no rust at all and a running motor pay no more than 1500-1800...for a car with moderater bin rust...and some fender rust...and a half decent interior don't pay more than $650...keep in mind all the prices I listed are CAD...

I'm decent with a wrench, but never worked on a rotory before. What I'm really worried about is mileage. I've heard that rotory's last a long time but what would be a decent mileage for 1500 to 2000 bucks? I mean I know if I find something with like 50k miles to jump on it, but on average what would be good?
