Help Me Get My Baby Back On The Road...

hey i have an 81 automatic rx-7
i recently flodded her due to exces cranking caused by a low battery... i had my ignition set up to DLIDFIS and the timing was screwy so i put it back to stock (i think) well anyway i borrowed the battery out of my truck, now when i turn the key everything reads fine (voltometer) but when i go to crank it it make a single click and the voltometer drops to 8 volts.... i thought i fried the battery but i put it back in my truck and it was fine could i have the ignition setup wrong somewhere? could i have bad wires (doubt because it was fine before i switched the ignition back.....

please help me

bad connection to your battery, check your cables, and clean them and the battery and if all else fails wiggle it some until you get a good connection.

yes very likely a wire thats shorting somewhere....

I had this exact same thing with my celica....

In my case it was the wiring at the alternator...The wire is made so it isolates it from the casing of the alternator and goes into it....that wire was touching the alternator casing giving me a grounding there....hence when i tryed to fire it up the electricity would just ground and not make the startermotor run.
