Help identify sensor on the side of the pan

The 17mm one? Is it needed? My brittle old wire broke off right at the base.

Thanks, Ed

Do I need it? I guess its not hooked up to an idiot light or buzzer because none has gone off. Whats the one beside it?

Thanks, Ed

The lower sensor is the oil level sensor. The light comes on when the sensor grounds the wire, so if it is the one that is broken, then the light will not come on. If that is the one, I would fix it or just check your oil level often.

The other sensor is to measure temperature. It is just used for the sub-zero start system. If that is the wire that you broke, I would not even worry about it.
