Where are you getting the carb rebuild kit? I know Mazdatrix lists different kits for different years, but I haven't seen that anywhere else. The ones I've purchased worked with my '83 carb as well as the 84/85 carb I have.

If nothing else, just call mazdatrix and order the one for the '82.

Yea he's right, the kits are universal other than the Mazda Factory ones I think. I use the 96-555 GP Sorenson/ Standard kit. It works for all the years.

Thats my problem....GP Sorenson lists 2 different kits...
assuming one is high altitude or cal
luckily i am pulling that carb and setting it aside(on the car when i was in denver)

I have the manual parts car with a fed carb for my conversion to 5 speed since i live in chicago now

one GP kit is 96-462 and the other is the 96-555

It probably wont matter much. Theres probably a slight difference in the supplied gaskets for the external different stuff. I've done many 81-85 carbs (modded and rebuilt) using the 555 kit.

thanks i will grab the 555 kit

btw...autozone's site lists the wrong kit totally(it is for a 2 barrel carb) it is going back tomorrow and i will give them the right kit number instead of them looking it up by car...

thanks
