help get my car ready for the may 13th meet!

I want to go to the meet on the 13th, but i need some help to get my car goin first...

1. I removed the A/C, what is the best way to block those two lines from the firewall?

2. I removed the charcoal canister, can i just connect the two lines with a section of hose to bypass it?

3. I removed the radiator overflow tank, do i need to seal off the bung that would normally go to it, with what?

4. The car hasnt been driven for about 3 months, what, if anything, should i do before i attempt to take it on this 400 mile round trip.

1) I think you can just leave those two hoses there.

2) IDK, Didnt your gas tank vent go to that, venting is important.

3) If your going to make a trip like that, its good to have that, they are there for a reason.

4) Change fluids, filters, plugs, check tires, better to be safe.

5) Have fun!

1. You can just leave those hoses there, I did the same but I'm going back to A/C for personal leisure.

2. Not sure, I completely blocked everything off, I only have the fuel line that's going into the carb.

3. Matt G is right, You should leave it there just in case you spring a leak and have to keep filling it up, that can buy you some time before you have to stop somewhere

4. Tune-up, bring extra fluids like a quart of oil and a gallon of antifreeze. Fix a flat can and some mmo just in case.

Which meet are you going to that's 400 miles rounds trip? Good luck. I'm sure you can make it!

All the above answers are correct. Put the canister back on along with the overflow tank!

Running without the coolant overflow tank is not a mod, it is ignorance as to how the cooling system functions and could cost you a motor.

The canister, I don't care what you do with it, you will need to block off the carb side and leave the tank side open to vent.

What would not blocking off the carb side do? I ditched my charcoal canister long ago, and Im prety sure I just yanked it and left the lines on the firewall... I will block off the carb line now, but would you mind explaining?

OK, overflow tank is back on since everyone is yelling about it, although in my opinion you dont need it as long as you fill up when the "coolant low" light comes on.

Anyways, I finally put everything back together after yanking everything to clean the engine bay. Everything works great except for some reason I am not getting any gas from the jets. I know gas is getting to the carb though. I DID take the carb out to clean it seperatley. Any idea why im not getting flow to the jets? ( i think i have good vacuum )

Vacuum and fuel pressure are 2 different things, did you hook up the fuel lines backwards. Thanks for putting the overflow back on.

Umm sorry to burst your bubble Trochoid, but neither of the lines on the charcoal canister go to the carb. Big one is crank case ventilation, while the smaller one heads back to the gas tank... Are you talking about something else or have I caught ya...lol
