Help with end play

I just got done assembling my 12A and have tried two spacers a Y and a K I think... I cannot get the e-shaft to move. Anyone have any suggestions? Looking at the Mazdatrix video, the guys just lifts the whole assembly up and down very easily. I have tried to get the assembly to move without luck...

Oh, the engine is actually 3 engines that were combined to make 1. I believe the irons to be mid 80's like 82/83, the aluminum housings are 82/83 from another engine. The rotors, counter weight, e-shaft and flywheel came from the same engine that the aluminum housings came from. My 1980 aluminum housings and rotors were too far gone.

I followed the procedures from Mazdatrix and Aaron Cake during the assembly. The engine spins well with nice pulses.

Thanks
Hector

Diff spacer thickness then? I presume you are referring to end-play? That the shaft-assy should be able to slide front-to-back very slightly? They seem pretty adamant that there has to be SOME play. I recall it has something to do with needed to allow for the engine thermal expansion once up to running temp. So just 'cause it spins now... maybe a diff story at operating temps!
Can't comment on you housings mix, but I have certainly heard of lots of combos of housings and irons being used, presumably with success...?

Wish I could offer a more concrete sol'n.

i'd take the front stack apart and make sure everything is seated correctly and is all facing the right way. everything has a chamfer on it and the chamfer always goes toward the back of the engine. secondly last time i did one, one of the bearings popped out, and i crushed it, engine spins fine like this, but end play is zero.

if all that is ok, then i would put it back, and tighten the front bolt in steps, and check the end play on each step, somewhere you will go from having some to not enough.

free play means literally that, it should be measured by just pushing/pulling on the flywheel. if its convenient you can use a pry bar, just don't pry very hard

There is end play with the stack removed... The stack was assembled properly and measurements are as follows:
Torrington bearing 1= 0.077
T Bearing 2= 0.076
Plate over front bearing carrier= 0.114
Total thickness = 0.267

Spacer 1 = K = 0.317
Spacer 2 = Y = 0.315

I have assembled and reassembled and still non play...
