Don't know for sure on the '84s, but check this anyway....there is an actual fuse labeled engine in the interior fuse box....test it to see if it's good...don't trust your eye to see if its blown, that was a $118 mistake I made 3 years ago...

nope not that, i even tried new fuses and no avail, if the ignitors didnt work would they let the engine crank? also is there a way i can test those?

Put the oil down the primaries. Give're a couple of bumps to get the oil around and let it sit for a couple minutes and then go for it. If nothing else is wrong it should start right up although it will be smokey for a few minutes.

Pull one of the spark plugs, lay it on the metal by the hood prop, and turn the engine over. Do you see sparks?
You need to narrow your problem down to spark, fuel, or compression.

well i know its not compression, she starts right up since i bought her, im thinking she's flooded, i opened the filter housing and she smelled like gas, i know thats where the carb is and everything but she smelled a little too strong, i put oil in there now im going to wait for a bit, if that doesnt work im going to check the spark plugs to see if i have any spark

First gen 12a's don't flood that easily, unless the floats stick. I would look for a spark problem, or possibly fuel.

By the way, your compression can go south on you instantly.

Check for spark and let us know. Lot's of things to try and narrow it down.
