help with brake rotors.
im replacing my brake rotors atm and ive got all new berrings, im just wondering what i do with the metal ring the bering sits in.. do i have to just squash em into the rotor or is there some special method to it??
ive done one side already and i had to use a hydrolic ram to squash em in, and they seem like they wont move..

one more thing....
does anyone know the torque setting on the large wheel hub nut? ive done the one side ive changed to 8 newton meters (i dont know the ft/punds conversion)
if anyone knows, is 8 alright? i looked in the hyanes manual but wasnt sure if i was looking at the right setting for the right nut

The bearing race should just press in pretty easily.
BTW, you don't torque the large nut! You carefully tighten it until the hub binds slightly and then back it off maybe a 1/4 of a turn. The hub should spin freely but you also need to check for sideways play of the hub. If there is then tighten the nut a fraction more.

wops... 8 neten meters isnt very much at all anyways, the rotor does spin very freely and there isnt any movement.
the book said from 5-9 newton meters (i think) so i opted for the larger nuber cus i dont my wheels falling off
but i will check to see if its tooo tight when i replace the other side, as soon as i get the other front bearing
