Hello all! need help on my first rotary!

I just got my first RX7. Its an 82 and I need to get some info. How hard is it to swap in a 13b? I would like to turbo then engine. Is there one available? Any help would be great! Thanx

There are numerous websites with infromation dedicated to this.
It ia a fairly easy swap as the GSL-SE came with the 13b. The easiest way would be to buy a SE wreck with a good drive train.

Hope this helps

Easy there buddy.

When I first got my 85 GSL, I was in here and had multi page posts about doing all sorts of power adding mods.

Keep that 12A in there while you learn about the rotary. They're still fun cars to drive.

If you are mechanically inclined and really wanna do the swap, there've been a million and two posts about it. Check them out by doing a search.

Good luck to ya.

pele 's right, I was in ur shoes a month ago, bought me a rex, wanted to go all out - run 11's or 12's, turbo, intercooler, nos, etc. Then i looked into it. The way it looks now, and dont get me wrong, i love the rotary, but for $300 US at grannyspeedshop.com u can get a bolt in kit for a chev v6, v8 or a ford v8. they claim 75- 125lbs weight gain, but you get MINIMUM 100hp. and 350's are so common and cheap! just my advice. I'm thinking if my 13b dies, it gets the boot - 262000 kms!

Hmm... for 300 bucks you get a few chunks of steel, aka brackets and mounts and a few odds and ends. You still need to customize a drive shaft, modify the hood in several instances, adapt your instrument panel to the new inputs and a sturdier rear end maybe? Good god man if you really want a 350 or a 302 why not just buy a car with one in it?
Much easier to drop a 89-91 13b if you ask me and you may end up with a more reliable car.
