Heater Motor Will Not Work
I am almost ready to burn this car..... I for the life of me cannot get the heater motor to blow anything. I looked at the wiring diagram, and it claims the blue and orange wire carries power to the motor. I took this wire and tested it, to see if there was power. no there is none. I put fuses in every place in the fuse block that will hold one. I ran a wire from a power source to the orange and blue wire.... and still nothing... I took the wiring harness from my parts car and swapped that in to see if that would make it work, and still nothing. I swapped the other fan motor in and same results, nothing.....My car is in pieces, because of some kind of wiring issues that I have had since I got the car and now all of the problems I hoped to fix by dismantling the dash, still cannot be fixed. 2 days wasted.. 1 mess made... nothing accomplished. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW THE HEATER MOTOR SWITCH AND HEATER MOTOR ARE WIRED, OR WHAT I HAVE TO DO TO MAKE THEM WORK AGAIN... whenever it rains my car fogs up and I can't defrost the windows...
I am going to go call the nut house and reserve myself a room....HELP

This heater issue has me baffled... just as alot of other problems on this car have done to me....... yes there are 4 wires that connect to both the switch, then another 4 that connect to the blower motor....
On my 83 I found that the contact blades for the blower fuse in the fusebox had corroded and burned until they wouldn't work. Changing the whole fusebox is too big a job, but you can replace individual sets of blades within the fusebox, and that's what I did. Pretty simple, really, and it solved the problem. Got an old fusebox from the junkyard to cannibalize for blades. Then, when I was done with that and power was going to the fan I found the fan motor was burned out (maybe it shorted and that caused the fuse contacts to burn up), so I went back to the JY and got a motor for $15. Works like a champ now.

Well I figured out that it was a bad ground, well at least during my testing, and trying to figure things out, I realized that the climate control assembly needs to be grounded, soon as I did that, the fan was blowing. Doesnt' really explain why it stopped working, cause it was grounded, but the fact that it works now is good enuff for me. Thanks for the help, yet again.
