heater hose block off question

Hey,

a question for all of you that have permanently removed your heater core. Did you re-route the hoses or block them off at the radiator and engine block? Any one have a good idea as to how to block the ends off? I would rather not have all the hoses when the heater core is gone. less hoses means less blown hoses.

Well, my heater core leaks so I simply took a small (2-3" long) piece of copper pipe and connected the two hoses that go through the firewall together. I'll eventually just take the 8' of spare heaterhose I have and replace the hose with one piece.

It's been almost a year and half like that and I havn't had a single issue.

I basically did the same thing, but used one long piece of heater hose to go from the radiator outlet to the driver's side engine inlet. this routes using the same hangers that used to be for the heater core return lines, but doesn't go into the firewall or cabin at all.

This was in response to my right foot being burned on several occasions due to a broken heater valve. When this part goes, it will start 'squirting' hot coolant on your gas foot. Not a fun experience.

Who needs a heater in the middle of the desert anyway??? (I'm in AZ)
