You gotta replace it? I just stripped my interior and I'll say that removing the core was a major pain in the ***.
There are bunches of bolts... Maybe look in the haynes manual? There might be a pic of the interior setup in there. Or a remvoal of the heater core how to.

are you sure its the heater core? i havent ever had to replace one or really heard of many guys askin about it, check the hoses on the other side of the firewall maybe?
senor uber-widebody is right as far as where it is located though

The haynes manual doesn't have anything in the index for heater.
The previous owner of my SE told me he disconnected some hoses because there was water leaking and the carpets were getting a little damp he noticed, so now my heater doesn't work.
