headlights and coolant beeping sound?
Hey guys so I have a couple issues going on at the moment.. First my headlights don't turn on anymore but parking and high beams work, I checked the fuses all check out so what did I miss?, and this morning as I started my 7 the add coolant light came on and kept beeping non stop it had never done this before.. Coolant in rad and reservoir is where it should be..I was thinking could the sensor on the rad gone bad? It's an 82 btw 😀

Alright I solved my headlight issue just went and bought a can of electrical parts cleaner and sprayed a little where the switch assembly is. I didn't take anything apart except for the steering column covers which is like four screws.. Played with the switch a little on off and they light up again! Whole thing took me like 5 mins haha.. As for the beeping it comes and goes but not sure what it is yet.

Coolant sensor is just one wire to the sensor on the top of the radiator. If you disconnect it you should see low coolant indication on the dash pretty much all the time. If you short that to the chassis and the indication goes away then the problem is with the coolant level or the sensor.
It doesn't take much of a bubble in there to set off the sensor. A defective radiator cap which lets in air instead of pulling coolant back from the overflow bottle when it cools off will cause it to go off. Radiator caps do wear out and they are so inexpensive you should just replace it if it has not been done recently. Check that the overflow bottle has coolant above the min level and that the hose is good. Most other places you should see leakage when the pressure comes up.
