GA Headlight will go down but not up

So i am starting to work on my new black 83 before i pull the engine out of it to put my 84's motor in. While playing with it to make sure all the electrical stuff works i try to turn on the headlights and the left one works fine but the right one will not go up.. So i swap the relays to no anvil.. Crank it up by hand to make sure its not binding and make sure the gears in the motor arent messed up.. I have the light up and i go to flip the switch to flip both the lights up and the one i hand cranked up motors to the down position and the other one goes up. Any idea wat this could be.. The motor seems to work fine if it goes down but not up.. And the relays work. Any help would b appriceated guys..
And for the record i did search healight problems but none were like my partcular case.

First step is to get your wiring diagram and get an understanding of how the system works. Your problem could be in the position detection contacts, or in wiring. But unless you have the diagram it's pretty difficult to explain where you should be looking.

The "up" circuit and the "down" circuit follow separate paths to some degree.

Retractor plug is shaped like an + and has four wires. White/red should have 12v at all times. Red/yellow should have 12v when headlights are down. Red should have 12v when headlights are up. Yellow/green connects the two retractor motors together. Sounds like you are not getting power from the switches to the red wire on the right retractor.
