Headlight cycling - motor/relay issue
Hi everyone,
I’d appreciate some help diagnosing and locating parts for a headlight motor issue I'm having with my 1979 GS.
Driver’s side headlight will not stay up. When I raise the headlights it cycles and occasionally will lock in place. Otherwise I have to manually hold it up to set it in place. It stays in place for awhile until I hit a bump in the road or if you put a slight amount of pressure with your hand on the top of the headlight it l starts cycling all over again. Not firmly locked in place. Could this be a bad gear inside the assembly? Or the relay?
I tried to find online a replacement headlight motor for driver’s side 1979, with no luck. Which replacement motors will fit a 1979?
Thanks,
Mark

I had the same issue a few months ago, it's a very simple fix (basically just clean some electrical contacts) See this thread
