Headlamp motor will not activate
Got in the car last night and one of my headlights (passenger side) wouldn't pop up. The light was on, but it wouldn't raise.
This has to have been covered before! I searched several times but all I could come up with were crazy sleepy eye threads and folks who had removed the motors for weight reduction.
Is there something that is the probable, known cause for this, so I don't have to spend a day tearing it apart and diagnosing?

1. linkage came off
2. motor dead
3. electrical
Inspect the retractor and see if the linkage came off. The bushings often get brittle and crack and then fall out. Then the linkage can easily fall off.
See if you can raise/lower manually with the **** on the motor to make sure something isn't binding.
Inspect the electrical connectors to make sure one is not unplugged, wire broken, etc.
Have someone operate the lights (try the headlight switch and the retractor switch) and listen/watch the motor. See if it tries to move.
I would say the the linkage is the most likely thing. It has happened to me before (driver side). I made a clip with a bobby pin that my wife left in the car to keep the linkage in place so I could drive home in the dark.
Good luck.

No the linkage would not stop both from coming up as they are independent from each other.
It would not be a fusible link or relay as the headlamps are wired the same.
The best conclusion as stated is that the linkage on the side that is not operating has come off or the motor it's self is bad on that side.
