having problems with my 7.

first off, sorry for bothering many of you about this.

ok my 81 that i bought off a friend had alot of problems. i have pretty much fixed most of them and now i'm down to just a few. these problems are mostly wiring. I'm military and part of my job is reading manuals and wiring diagrams for certain equipment. thanks to that i fixed a few wiring problems, but its still kinda hard to figure out the others.

heres is the main problem

in this pic, you can see the wires were cut. the color codes for each are as follows:

white with red stripe
black with gray (possibly white) stripe - x3
yellow with green stripe- x2

i would like to know what part these connect to and/or the proper wiring location.

Also following that is the alternator primary wire was also cut. might be hard to see but its there.

wondering does this connect to the other cut wiring or not.

Without going out in the cold to look at my car, here's my best guess. First off, are you sure both yellow wires have a green stripe? The (signal?) wires for the coils are 1) yellow/green stripe, and 2) yellow with blue stripe. The white with red goes to the alternator I think. Two of the black/white stripe are the constant power to the coils, and the 3rd black/white stripe might be for the fuseable link block.

Again, this is my best guess withought getting my lazy *** out of bed, so please confirm with the wiring diagrams in the fsm's before the fire dept. shows up.

Closer examination of the pics makes me look like a dumbass. The coils are all connected, as is the fuseable link block. It appears that the dizzy is not in the block though, so I think all the wires go in that area. white/red is still the alternator, The two yellow, and the black/whites to the ignitors.

That's part of the engine-to-chassis wiring harness. The big fat white wire is the other end of your alternator primary.

Isn't there an on-line wiring diagram to help this poor guy out....??

Otherwise -269, these are on ebay most all the time: $20 well spent!!

thanks alot!

as i thought at first the white/red goes to the alternator. I've seen a few pics on other car where its connected to other parts....weird.

Also i have the "Haynes" manual and it sucks. it doesn't give a full parts breakdown on the 12a but it did on a 13b. plus wiring breakdown is trash from my perspective. Soooooooo that brings me to another question. i feel like a child asking alot of questions but ive read in books, manuals and on the forum that your my model 7 should have a "ballast resistor" or igniter box between the fuseable link and coils. All i have is this bracket. is this "dizzy" suppose to go there <~~ very confused about what a dizzy is.

if anyone could post a pic of that area, i'm pretty sure i could have this problem done and move on to the next lol. i look around the forum and web but can't seem to find a good pic of it. its always to far away or i only see the wires.

right now Me=baby
