Have ne idea what this noise was?

well today I went to a friends house to show him my 84 gsl-se and give n' a lil ride. He doens know **** about rotary cars so i told n' tha it was a piece of **** slow like a turtle. Well i made a couple of burn outs and doin a burn out i heard this laud noise tha i thought was a flat tire i got off and all tires were just fine. I got back in the car turned it on and the car had this laud noise comin from the tranmission, first thing i thought " damn I just fuked up my transmission" . Ok after tha I took my friends bak and on my way to my house the laud noise just went away like if never was there.

has this happened to ne of ya'll?

Well that's really tuff since you don't describe the noise? Since you were doing burnouts, I would guess either the front u-joint, or the transmission mount. A broken mount would allow the assembly to move around, and the driveshaft may be contacting a heat shield.

Yeah, but if you break a mount, you know it. i had one go and the shifter sunk ~2 inches and wobbled around a bunch.

Lotus, sounds like the entire rubber part came off in yours. Usually it only tears from one side but stays in place. When that happens the transmision tail can move about under load, but at rest it would be back in the (relatively) normal position.
