have to drop the gas tank again.

After putting in a new sending unit and mounting the tank, I noticed that I have a leak somewhere on top of the tank. So, I got to drop it again. When I installed it the last time, re-attaching the fuel filler hose was a real pain in the neck----literally. Someone suggested letting the fuel filler hose come down with the tank, but the FSM doesn't say anything about that. Any suggestions?

Mike

yes, always let the filler neck down with the tank. 100 times eaiser. if you did not install a new gasket at the fuel level sender you may have a leak there. make sure the filer hose is seated on the tank and the hose clamp is tight.

put some anti-seize compound on before sliding any hoses on. makes it easier to take apart later too.

I find PB Blaster works well for sliding hoses on and stopping the rust too.
