Well, I just noticed that you said you don't like the summit racing noise reducers. Apex'I sells a set that is similar in function, but are designed to look good on those mufflers. Thats what I meant by baffles.
I can't say too much about the presilencer that you have, I would guess its the RB since thats the easiest to find, but I'd suggest running something like the factory presilencer off of the MK III Supra. I'm guessing you're running 2.5" pipe, and thats the stock diameter on the Supras. That should help a lot without loosing too much flow.

Ya neighboors can sometimes be the pits. Not that I would know or anything my neighboors are pretty cool. Alot of people own harleys which are way louder than my car will even be...well maybe if I took the presilencer off. But theres alot o kids with cash up here so theres civics like crazy. They pull up with their little 4 cyclinder and I chuckle to myself inside. Anyway agreed...find a decible meter and see if your under if you are writ out a note and mass print it and put it on your neighboors "Excuse me people of the neighboorhood listen up literally if when I step on the gas its too loud for you either pack your bags or turn down your hearing aids".

Hmm... its going to take a bit of work to upgrade the presilencer then... Run two of them in sequence maybe? I'd have to see the underside of the car to get a better idea of whats where to say for sure. But the 2nd gen I was going to get, before it walked away along with the 500 dollars I payed for it, had the single canister N1 and ran two presilencers to keep noise down.

If you don't have any advice on how to help him with his CURRENT SETUP, which is what he was asking about in the first place, GO AWAY.
OK smart guy, since you know everything...

His setup is not going to be quiet, period. His current setup may be nice, but like it or not, hes gonna have to spend some money, and those mufflers are not going to be anywhere near quiet no matter what he does to them. Rotary's are loud, accept it, he can strike a deal with his neighbors, or get a new muffler, and the sad truth is the neighbors are really gonna keep whinig till his exhaust is close to stock as far as sound volume goes. Adding presilencers helps, but they really dont do much. Alot of people here run the racing beat setup without the presilencer, and it isnt that much louder than with it.

OK guys, play nice. Big bro is watching.

Your presilencer was a dynomax bullet muffler. You had 3 IIRC, did you remove the others?

One last thing and I'll let it drop hornbm: the amount of money he will have to spend on baffles and a better silencer will be vastly cheaper, and more efficient than, buying an entirely new exhaust system. Yes the RB setup is quieter, good quality, and ok for power, but the dual canister system YapaKanichi has puts out much more power, over a broader band, even with noise reduction baffles stuck in the end.

Since when is buying a new muffler getting "an entirely new exhaust system"?

ok yall I put the well i lied, it came with silencers......but it is ugly as hell. Plus it's a ricemobile with them in hhhhhiiiiiiinnnnnnnggggggggggg. lol. My neighbor I had there with me who doesn't mind the exhaust said it was a lot quieter but it does sound funner. It gets all loud and tingy. I can't stand that, but at idle it's the same volume.

if you look for a little bit you can get it used fairly cheap, I havent ever heard of one of those mufflers going bad, so It wouldnt really matter if you got it new or used.

That note actually seemed pretty polite to me.
Don't blame people for wanting to avoid confrontation, once you're older you'll understand that's just how most people are. Politess is the grease of society.
Okay, I'm all out of euphemisms.

I have a racing beat presilencer. It's the one for the 74-78 and 81-83 I think. But it's racing beat. Bought it from rx7store.net. So I called them up and they said it's probably the muffler not the presilencer. he said it's probably quiet exiting the presilencer but loud leaving the exhaust, which makes none to no sense to me. Can anyone explain this it me.

And by the way, that is not polite. That is a threat and I take it personally. I find polite talking to me to my face. Not throwing a stone and running away with your tail between your legs.
