Thumbs down Hatch release question

Has anyone ever added an electric hatch release to a frist gen that didn't come with it when new. I assume the wiring is there already?

Should be. The 7s had basically the same wiring harness and to add an option all that's needed is the switch and electric unit/solenoid. In the case of power windows, one needs an extra pigtail that goes into the doors, along with the switches and electric crank unit.

In my sig line is a link to the online FSMs and other manuals. Download what you need.

yuppers, I just did this not too long ago. All the required wiring is there. It is a whole lot easier to just use a stock one, but I did use an aftermarket one for awhile. All you need to do is put in a stock switch and selenoid. Simple as can be. Can usually pic up both for 20 bucks.
