Question Hatch release button

Alright, I just finished putting in my new dash, YAY! But after I plugged the battery back in, my hatch release button no longer worked. Is there something that I could have screwed up? I didn't even mess with it at all. I mean it was hanging with the trim while I tried to get to the bolts. What I need to know is if there is something that I could have screwed up or if it was merely coincidence that the button quit at the same time as my dash replacement. Thanks in advance.

My button is broke off my switch.

If it was hanging with the trim, you may have dislocated one of the wires on the back. It may have broken its solder joint. pull the switch out and check all the wires.

also, check your fuses on driver side, and if that fails do what i did when my turn signals stopped working - grab all the wires that are going into your fuse box from behind the box, shake them around a little, and "push" them into the box (instead of taking the box out to re-solder everything)

(and do what partsguy74 said)
