Has anyone covered their dash in Tweed or Suede ?
I originally wanted to swap in a newer dash from a miata but I don't have the patience right now for that big of a project.
I'm considering a tweed dash. Just a simple pull out and recover with tweed.
My only concern is the FB dash has some pretty tight curves. Has anyone succesfully done this ?

Yes, I've always liked the looks and feel of tweed. I loved the early 1990 looks of custom trucks. They usually always used Tweed. It's cheap and easy to work with.

I was considering wrapping my dash with some type of fabric for a while, but have since changed my mind and am now going to build a new dash out of carbon fiber. I've got a spare dash in my spare room, along with many other interior parts that I'm working on cleaning up and getting them ready to make molds from.

Victoria British er.... "Black Dragon" sells a dash cover for first gens, its made of the same type material as stock, its cut to fit and it like sticks on or something. A friend had one and it looked nice except if you looked close around the edges. perhaps someone who's actually used one can comment on it.

suede can be difficult to work around tight curves, you got to take your time with it, but it looks nice. low low's generally are velour. suede looks much classier. as far as colored burlap...i mean tweed, i never have cared for it, but hey, we all got our own taste. if you like the tweed, i would do that, it should be a lot easier to lay smooth. another option is called heat formable vinyl, i use it on custom fiberglass audio video installs here at the shop. you heat it with a heat gun as you lay it and it stretches and conforms to curves.

This is a interior covered in Tweed. I want something, clean and classic.
Or this one, but he's got ostrich inserts.
