Hard to get into 1st gear

Hey guys-

I've got an all original, 1983 GS. 85,400 miles, I'm the second owner. I only put about 2-3k a year on it, and have had it since Nov 2006.

I bought the car at 60,230 miles, I'm very confident it's the original clutch & pressure plate.

In 2008 either the master or slave failed, I replaced both.

Now to the problem- Once warmed up, it's a bear to get it to go into 1st at a dead stop. The pedal firmness feels great. No play or varying depressing force is needed, it feels like it should. If I pump the clutch a couple times it slips in a tad easier. Well, "slips." it feels extremely notchy, and I feel like I'm going to bend some of the internal linkages.

I really feel like it's the pressure plate that's giving me the trouble.. I believe it's not completely breaking the connection between engine and transmission.

Anyway, I looked around this site and google, didn't find anyone else who had this problem so maybe someone who has will chime in.

Thanks for the help! Here's a few pictures of the car.

good looking car, I'd try bleeding the clutch slave before anything just to make sure before throwing any $ or serious effort into it.
