had to share this one..thanks guys btw.

After months of problems with idling, im sure youve seen the threads started by me. Im sure even a couple of you have said a few things to help, your input was generally appritiated. Most comments were made about the "vaccum lines" so i worked over my vaccum lines for hours and hours to no defeat.

So i got pissed off and went and threw on my carb off a 81 gsl that i had "as a spare" While i was at it, i removed the shutter butterfly in the intake it was obviously restricting atleast 20 percent of the flow of that single chamber, so over all it would be 1/5 of 1/4 of my total cfm. Or 1/20th over all flow. It was prolly not that much but im sure it did stabalize the air a little better going into that port.

Now to get the point of the story, i got eveything back together, waiting for an hour for the compound to harden and fired it up.

There must be something wrong, my car idles at 250 rpms. Not 2000 rpms....

so in other words. its a damn good idle, just like it was before i unstuck the secondary butterflys on the second carb.

Thanks for the help to all you guys that responded to my idling issue threads.

I get **** when it comes to things that might go into the intake. I drill, tap and plug the hole with a bolt or allen head plug.

Glad to see you finally sorted out your problems.

dont worry, i did thread two bolts into the holes, i basically let the bolts thread them selves in, but i put lock tight on them so they can never come out.

Excellent. J-B Weld works good for that in this application also. I'm leary of using J-B to fill the entire hole.
