Had an accident with my 85 gsl.

Now i unfortunately had an accident a couple weeks ago and wound up slightly punching my small rad into the main one and creating a pretty bad leak. I'm pretty sure the small rad is just for the a/c but i just wanted to ask an expert before removing the little guy for good as i have no need for a/c when i can't recharge it in canada anyways. Someone please let me know if i am right. Thanks a bunch.

If the "small rad" you're talking about is about 6" tall -- it's the oil cooler. If it's about the same height as the "main one", it's the A/C condenser. With questions this basic, you should buy a repair manual. They don't cost much, and it'll save you a lot of time waiting for responses.

the small radiator looking thing in the front is for the AC. if you dont need the AC then you should remove all of it and shave some weight.

He said it was an 85, they didn't have the front mount oil cooler.

So in that case just remove the smaller one and all hoses. I did; its a nice weight reduction.

Mabe you should scope a manual cause the oil cooler on a gsl 84-85 is up with the filter dumb ***.

Thanks man, that's what i figured. I appreciate the confirmation. I think someone in here needs to check their 84-85 info or keep they're input to themselves.won't mention names..

Woah woah woah, don't be so harsh. I was thinking the same thing until I went back and read the title of the thread and noticed it was an 85.

Regardless, you're welcome. Be careful when removing the A/C system though, don't want to hurt yourself or the environment... too much.

dude, you need to chill out. with an attitude like that your likely to stop getting help from anyone. the guy was only trying to help you. he made a simple mistake. theres no need to get all harsh as you chose to. someone could haqve responded to your thread in the same manor calling you a dumbass because you didnt know what it was you were wanting to remove. im not trying to talk down on you. just asking that you think and please be more civilized.

Figure it out yourself if your going to be a ******* dick to someone trying to help you. You could also try using that big mouth of yours to plug the hole. Jack ***

Ya, point taken. When i ask a simple question as i have been asked before. When i recieve an uneducated remark to make me feel dumb about something he had no business informing me of in the first place i have every right to be upset. I can take criticism with the best of them but i don't have to put up with that.

So the dumb *** part i will take back and replace with. With a question a basic as that i suggest YOU buy a shop manual. It will save you alot of time waiting for answers.

You very well could be right, it wasn't what a gathered but i took back the remark i made regardless. I appreciate help more than most but when i knew the the answer and was just looking for confirmation and some guy who does clearly not know this model tell me the wrong thing, and then on top of that belittles me bout a basic question and a shop manual.. I don't think i was entirely outta line.

He made a helpful suggestion, get a shop manual and you might save some time. How was that belittleing you?
