Guage cluster died? Fixable or just swap?

Guage cluster died? Fixable or just swap?
SO... just happened a few nights ago. I did some searching but didn't find the answer I need.
I noticed the other day that the blinkers stopped working, and then later noticed that the gauge cluster also stopped working. No oil, water, electrical, fuel, or tach. I would imagine these are all connected as well as the blinkers. Checked fuses, nothing that obvious.
I'm sure some one has had this issue? Did the cluster just die and need replacing or can I pull it and repair it? Or maybe is it something as stupid as a ground? (haven't check that yet)

You've probably just got a bad ground in the harness, a faulty pin on the cluster connector, or something along those lines.
The clusters in these cars are pretty 'dumb;' no logic or anything on them, just straight-wired indicators and gauges. All the signalling comes from off the cluster via separate switches and sensors.
You'll want to get ahold of a wiring diagram, learn to read it (if you're not familiar with old-style electrical diagrams - most people aren't), then look for the common point of failure & start measuring voltages, if you want to tackle fixing electrical parts of cars this old.
Part technology, part archeology.

Yah, I'll take a look... not what i really enjoy on my time off!
But yah, I've had my share of time playing with wiring diagrams. Spent some months rewiring a 13b from an S4 into my 79.
THanks for the advice, I'll take a look and see what happens. It would be nice to not pull the guage cluster, though that is due to come when I change heater core... I think I might just sell the car first!
