Do the second gen ignition coils direct fire set up. Take your exhaust off. Put ice in your radiator. Take the filter out of the intake, it's just emissions BS anyway. Take one of the front tires off, weight reduction. Take the alternator out as part of weight reduction. Pour oil on his tires when he isnt looking. All these mods should get you running 4 second qauter miles. CAUTION, i tried this once and my car did a backflip from all the massive rotary torque. tee hee

Sorry Amigo, it's all in the driving skills of take off and shifting.
You can however lessen the weight by remving the spare and getting your fuel tank down to about 1/8 of a tank or on reserve.
Inflate the tires to about 35psi for less rolling resistance. Other than that, intimidate the crap out of him with a good stare down

Kick the cats, punching them isn't as effective.

I was able to completely remove mine with some pipes i got from Autozone, measure it to size, get flanges, take it to an exhaust shop and have them weld it, install yourself.

do what O 16581 72452 5 recommends and then swap the cats back in for emissions testing.

also remember to turn your AC and any electric accessories - such as the radio and your lights - off and disconnect your power steering pump from the pulley system if you're looking to squeeze every fraction of a horsepower out of it.

Yeah, do a full tune up, fuel filter, plugs, wires, filter, make sure your aux are working as they should. Test everything make sure it's 100%. I'm sure after you do that you will be a little bit faster.

Emissions suck, I'm so glad we don't have them in Florida, STRAIGHT PIPES FOR ALL MY CARS, YAY !!!!!!!

Amatures...

Inflate the front tires (or run 2 compact spares up front)

Deflate your rear tires for better launch.

Advance your timing, check out Paul Yaw's recommendations.

Weight reduction: spare tire and related hardware, passenger seat, any and all crap you have in the car, drain window washer tanks, run oil at min., run on nearly empty gas tank, go on a diet.

Keep your windows up.

remove your AC and PS belts. less rotational inertia and drag (not by much). careful tho your fan/waterpump belt might start slipping and that can = overheat.

Hey, I thought as part of the rotary 'brotherhood' that it was forbidden to race other '7s'. Or is that just me?

Also, nice way to jump onto the boards, I might add...
