Gsl-se Will not start in cols temperarure

Hello guys,

I would like your advise on my problem...

I just changed my engine supports so i had to drain the oil. This is a track car so in went 20w50. This is winter here in Canada so temperature today was 32 degres. I charged the battery and the car started for a few seconds. I usually give a tad of gas so the revs ups to around 2000 rpm but i did not since i was sitting with mynlegs out of the car... It died and not refuses to start. I then noticed i neglected to fill my gaz tank last automn. Itbwas almost empty. Filed it, charged the battery more but still will not start...

I am now trying to heat the garage but it is not well, insulated so...

What I know or think:

The oil is very thick from being cold so it is a stress on the engine.
There is humidity in my gaz tank... Or the gas line froze from the humidity?
The engine is flooded?

I do not want to burn my starter so i wonder what to do...

1- I wait for the summer to try again
2- I put something very flammable directly in the chambers to help to start
3- i change the spark plugs?
4 - antifreeze the lines ( how do i do that)

I do not need the car to run before spring but this puzzles me...

Please give me your advise on this, imwill not be able to stop thinking about this....

Thank you in advance

fred

i'd start by pulling the plugs and checking theyre not fouled

if theyre fine, see if you can get it to fire momentarily by pumping the accelerator while cranking the engine - if you've run the tank nearly dry, you might have blocked your jets up with something

Like nofrills said, if you tried to start it with the tank empty you could have plugged your fuel filter or jets. You can do a quick check by pulling the fuel line that goes onto the carb, pointing it somewhere safe and turning the key to the on position. A good steady flow of fuel should come out. Also, if you flooded it you can pop one of the lower spark plugs out and crank the engine. All the fuel should pop out.

Did some research yesterday and dreamt about it last night...

I did the unflooding procedure, pulled the spark plugs and sandblasted them with my aircraft tool. While i cranked for about 20 seconds, my battery died on me..?

Faulty battery charger was the main problem. Went to mynstreet corner mechanic and had it charged for 5$.

I am now dizzy from breathing white smoke;-)

Thank to everybody!

I'll keep my battery indoor for the rest of the winter...
