GSL-SE wheels on a GS??!!??!!

I recently went to discount tire and came very close to having 17in wheels wrapped in michelin tires put on my 1st gen GS.

The mechanic(after viewing my cars bolt pattern)4/100)) then realized he had wheels that fit a GSL-SE.

My buddy has a 1980 GS or GSL(its carb.) but his has the GSL-SE Wheels.

What I'm getting at is-

How can I get some either GSL-SE wheels on my GS, or get any wheels w/o having to have a shop order $1000 custom wheels????

The forsale section or wheels for sale section has wheels on there all the time. I wouldn't recommend putting 17's on a fb/sa either, imo its plain ugly no matter the wheel, and will most likely rub. 15" wheels fit real good. you'd have to swap out your suspension for se suspension to get the 4x114.3 wheels. you can find wheels in great condition for less than 1k or 600$ in the for sale sections.

The bolt pattern on all non SE is 4x110. There are a few wheels still available in that bolt pattern. The Konig Rewinds are a good chioce. They are the right offset, +20, and come in 15x7. They offer two finishes, silver center, or gunmetal center. Check these out. If you are looking for something more modern (tuner style), you can go with wheel adapters to get you in the 4x100 pattern, and +35 to +40 offset. This will open up a world of options on wheel size, and style. If you are wanting the stock + aluminum wheels, I have an extra set that I could let go.......

if you want SE wheels, swap over the SE front hubs with strut and spring and swap over the SE rear end.
