ON GSL-SE Wheels

I have a set of GSL-SE wheels at the shop for refinishing.

Does anyone know if the faces of the original wheels were diamond cut or just painted?

And what about the recessed areas where the valve stem is located?

the answer is yes. the face is diamond cut, the lip is polished. i think the recesses are painted, although that is a maybe.

I looked at my SE and it appears that the recesses are not painted but are just unpolished aluminum that was clear coated with the diamond cut face. The recesses could have been painted Sunbeam Silver originally. My wheels are worn and faded unfortunately.

This is going off of memory alone, I think they were just clear coated. I used to clean mine all the time because I had race brake pads that made a lot of dust.

THX guys .. I'm going to get one wheel done first based on your recommendations / memory recall.

I will post up a photo once the wheel is done.
