Exclamation GSL-SE wheel fittment question... accord rims?

So, come winter Im going to be looking for a few goodies for my new GSL-SE. I think one of the first things I want to tackle is a set of wheels. I have had a good experience with tirerack.com and I would like to send my business there again. Only problem is their selection for the -SE sorta sucks, only 3 options and none of them tickle my fancy. I did a quick search for any 4X114 rims and found that the '95 honda accord runs wheels with the same bolt pattern so I took a quick look at wheels for the accord. I ended up finding some delicious ASA AR1 rims that I think would fit the -SE, if not hopefully could be corrected with a thin spacer. I would send a link but I cant figure out how to post the page without everyone else getting a page that says "session is over" because of the way the tirerack website is set up.

Anyways I have a few questions about the fit of the honda rims. First of all, even if the wheel offset and size will fit, would I have any issue with the size of the hole in the center of the rim? I know our cars have hubcentric wheels, but how bad is it to run wheels designed for another car? In the case that the hole is to small I could hopefully just get it machined out to fit the hubs tight, but if its too loose would there be too much stress on the lugs?

Secondly, according to tirerack a rim size of:

16" X 7"
+42mm offset
in a 4-114 bolt pattern will fit the -SE without problems.

The accord rims come in a size of:

15" X 6.5"
+38mm offset
and also a 4-114 bolt pattern

These rims sound like they are prety close in fittment, with the accord rim being a little bit closer to the suspension... I think that if it rubs on the inside, a properly sized spacer would allow that wheel to fit, can one of you wheel gurus confirm this?
I really want these wheels so if there is a problem with the hubcentric fit or the size, Id love to hear any of your suggestions. My black -SE would love these rims.

i don't think it'll work. hub sizes are different and honda wheels are too high of an offset to begin with. and even if it did work, it'll look ugly since the wheels are too sunken inside the fender.

just get aftermarket wheels or the more appropriate ones. celica supra wheels fit the SE if you're in a budget and they look great flush to the fenders. it'll most definitely give that mean stance

Just to clarify, these are aftermarket wheels...just designed for the accord, I would like to go with wheels designed for the GSL-SE but the selection is quite poor.

To me that the offset seems prety damn close (comparing it to the wheels designed for the -SE on tirerack) so I want to disagree that they will be sunken too far inside the fender. Even if they are, I have a laser cutting connection so wheel spacers wouldnt be a problem to get made up.

I think the main issue is the hub, and I agree with you on the hub part, but if im using a toyota wheel anyway I assume it still wont be identical.

More opinions pleeease!

Personally, I would go with a 16X7 rim. My 2nd gen has the same pattern as the SE and I went 16X7 for a wheel and tire upgrade and couldn't be happier with them. Unfortunately the wheels have been discontinued. They would look good on an SE. Bought them through Discount Tire about 5 years ago. Have you checked Discount Tire's website?

Cool, I had thought about rims made for a base model FC, but again when I searched the selection was better than the -SE but still no where near the options for the honda. I disappoint myself for bringing honda into all of this but the selection is uncomparable, I almost wish I hadnt made such a thread...but Ive sorta got my sights set on these wheels. Nothing I can find elsewhere even compares to these...especially considering the price.

Tell me these wouldnt look amazing on a black -SE

I almost cant even look at or think about any other wheels now....

I had to run out, take a picture and do a quick photoshop. It isnt the best but it gives you an idea.... Id love these.

They would be a bit bigger, just made them the same size as the stockers.
