GSL-SE weber 48 DCOE
Would like to know if anyone could help me with the settings on a weber48 DCOE for a 85 gsl-se. I live in Albuquerque so the Elevation is 5000 feet above sea level. Also does anyone know any body in Albuquerque that works on RX-7's?
The current setting are..
> Air correction jet-175
> Emulsion tube-F7
> Main jets-135
> Idle jets-50F8
> Pump jets-57
> Its Idling rough

webers are a tricky sort...the DCOE may be different from the IDA a little but its alot of guess work. Idle is handled only by the idle jets so the mains don't come into play...you also need to check your bypass valve which is in the float to see what size it is(it may have one it may not the IDA's do)...it could be that you are just putting too much gas into it.
50's actually sound a little low the car....unfortunately there is no good way to find out what your car needs its alot of trial and error unless you can find someone with a similar setup and get their specs. I would start with a little more idle jets and check your float and make sure that it is shutting off the gas and not just flooding the engine. All of my newly rebuilt IDA's floats were off.

Azse:I have this configuration on 44 IDF:
> Air correction jet-160
> Emulsion tube-F11
> Main jets-136
> Idle jets-80
you´re stock or ported?
maybe its not enough fuel/air for 48ida

Banned. I got OWNED!!!
where did you buy the carb from? they should have supplied you with x-tra jets for fine tuning.. as far as idle jets you need a 65F9 jet size for sooth idle
the main jet is way too small even at 5,000 feet altitude, try a 170 main jet, but leave the large air jet... also try f11 emulsion tubes the car might drive alot better with those in high altitude
