GSL-SE, vent vac solenoid symptoms?
so i think i have a gsl-se and i think these (this?) is bad, ive never seen a bad set before (in 10 years!) so i'm not sure whats wrong.
my symptoms are these; engine hot idle is bouncy (goes from 1000-1200rpms) and then it will settle down to a 1000-1100 rpm idle, sometimes it will drop down to 800 and be fine.
tps is adjusted, and everything else seems to be ok.
does this sound like the vent/vac solenoid to you guys?

Does the idle drop when you put a load on the engine, say hold the brake and engage the clutch and let it drop under normal 800 idle? if so then most likely that could be the problem. I posted this question a couple weeks ago and zookeeper replied back with that his symptoms of a bad ven/vac solenoids were. Supposively there were some old TSB's with vent/vac's contributing to the problem, but i don't think many people know them to be a contributing factor. Here's his post about that https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...hlight=surging . Shute you even replied to it back then, re-read it! I got my hands on another set but i have yet to replace them because it's stored at my mammy's house now.
If you read the FSM, it gives you instructions on how to properly check them to see if they are working. It does make sense that they could be causing your idle trouble, considering they are directly related to your BAC. Have you ever cleaned your BAC to see if it's properly working, i would assume so seen as how you have over 4,000 posts! ~Gavin
