gsl-se strut install
I have a 1985 gsl-se. I have already tried replacing the front passenger side strut, but couldn't figure out how to get the strut cartridge out. Does anybody have any idea how to get that cartridge out.

Even that isn't strictly necessary. If you can get the strut's top nut off while it's on the car (likely with an impact), you can then lift the car and slowly unload the suspension. That way you can get it apart without a spring compressor, though I find it's easier to use the compressor.
Once you've got it replaced, it's a good idea to fill the housing with some motor oil once the new strut is in. It'll put the insert body into hydraulic lock so it can't slide up and down inside the housing, should the nut come a little loose, and will keep the rattling down. It also increases the heat transfer from the insert to the housing, though it's probably not a big deal unless you're really working the strut.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot. The last time I tried to remove the strut lock nut and rounded it off a little. I think the suspension is factory. Also, do I have to disconnect the strut housing from the front end to replace the ball joints? I was looking at it last weekend and that seemed to be the case.
