GSL-SE startor, fan, wiper problems
Hello everyone, i have a 1984 GSL-SE. It recently decided to not want to turn over when you try to engage the starter. I thought it may be a dead battery but it was not. Then i bump started it with a push from some bros, and it fired up and i drove it home.
The next morning the starter still did not work. So i bump started it on the hill i always park on. It fired up and i let it warm some and then drove it up the hill after only to realize my wipers weren't working, neither was the fan. The funny thing was i turned my car off and then tried and they would work. I then bump started it cause i wouldn't test it not on a hill and it fired up with both the wipers and the fan still working. If i turned them off, they would not turn back on though. I tried to turn off the engine and try them again but this time they wouldn't work at all, so i drove to work, it was dark but not raining that bad.
After work i tried to start it, and no luck. I tried the wipers, and they worked!, same with fan! Then i pushed my car down a slight hill in the parking lot jumped back in and let out the clutch. Then i let it warm up and tried all circuits and they all worked. Then kept driving. I got to the college and parked. Upon getting back in the 7 prolly 15 min later, the wipers didn't work, same with the fan. I bump started it and they still didn't work. So i drove home with no wipers. I should mention also that i swapped the stator with a known good one from a parts car and the starter still did not work.
I have no clue what could cause the starter to stop working, and the fan and wipers to work intermittently and not want to turn on while the engine is running.
Im guessing the fan and wipers are part of the same circuit. However i remember a "Blower" and a "Wiper" circuit if i am not mistaken. Or are they least controlled by the same relay?
Any help would be very appreciated.
Thanks,
Nathan
