GSL-SE relief silencer

Hey I'm trying to connect the relief silencer to my acv. The only problem is that I know one end goes on the acv (duh!) but where does the other end plug into?

I've looked through the 89 FSM (i dont have an 85 one, but they still have the same relief silencer) and the haynes manual, and neither one says where the other end goes.

Where on earth does the end of this thing connect to?

i cant get a pic untill tomorrow, but its not that hard to describe.

ON the ACV, there are two hoses. One goes to the air pump, the other is a blig long tube with a plastic thing on it (silencer) that connects to what?

I think it goes to an ugly can under the airbox I'll look at mine in the morning (my acv is gone too but I have all of it w/ the car so it should be easy to see where it goes)

You mean our stupid small muffler under the airbox...
It just goes out to the atmosphere.

A hose goes from the ACV forward the car into a hollow plastic bulb silencer then into a black can which is mounted onto the frame rail then another hose from that can which lead to the fron of the car bending somewhere along the radiator.
On my car I dumped the can...and just have the hose from the ACV into one of them bulbs.

The 88 TII I have also has the same components. Looks like a check valve of some sorts and then routes to a muffler like can. Appears to be common on many 7s.

Just what exactly does this thing do?

It muffles the sound cming out of the ACV. That's all.

I dont have the can, but the silencer is on the hose, and it has some bolt holes on it. I guess I'll just mount it and let it vent into open air. Thanks guys.
