GSL-SE motor into 12A chassis
Hey I have a 84 GSL-se thats been wrecked pretty bad from the side and I have a 84 GSL thats almost showroom clean. I want to swap out the 12A for the GSL-SE 13b setup. Anyone know how to do it? I know its pretty straight forward, I've done the suspension swap before so I know how to work on 7's. I was told something about using the entire crossmember that sits under the motor and goes from frame rail to frame rail. I was told I could remove the one from the GSL-se and it would bolt in to my 12A chassis. Is this correct? Can I do that?
Let me know if anybody has info on this. I would much appreciate it!!!

Couldn't you just buy the adapter bracket that racing beat sells and skip the swapping crossmember part? I am curious myself because I have seen the crossmember swap mentioned before but don't understand why it is nessesary? Anyone?

Yes I understand the different lengths but doesn't racing beat sell the 13b into 12a chassis bracket to account for the longer engine without swapping the crossmembers?

you can choose either ways: swapping the crossmember or using the special RB bracket (or like I did for my TII swap: modify a 12A one)
the crossmember swap will be a bit more work, but since you have all those parts it'd be cheaper. What you cannot do is use the GSL-SE bracket in a 12A chassis (different crossmember)
other then that: this should be a rather straight forward swap indeed.
