GSl-SE Idle problems ( sorry)

Well I just finally got my S4 block in my -SE, it was the only one I could find. Well due to its stupid EGR, I cant yet install the rats nest, so I removed that. That aside, I have surging problems and what I've been reading, is my problem.
So my question is, is that the only thing thats going to fix it?
Once she gets warmed up, It'll flux from say ~850-1100. It will also do this at a part throttle too. A few times, not all, I can get it to stay at about 900 though. If I goose it, it acts like it'll die.

I also did the throttle body mod, due to the parts that I removed were broken. Alright thanks, later !

Sounds like you have some major vacuum leak there somewhere that can also cause 'surging' other than the known issue with the throttle-body rods sticking.

I'd have another close look at the TB and vacuum system and make sure that you've either connected, or plugged, any vacuum source or line which may be introducing extra air into the system. Anything that makes it into the intake behind the AFM is going to cause problems with idle quality and potentially cause 'surging'.

Good luck,

TPS. adjust that mother.

also, what vaccum do you have hooked up? you should only need two or three. one that connects from a vaccum nipple on your LIM to your dynamic chamber, one from the FPR to the dynamic chamber, and (optional) one from the oil injection spider lines to the dynamic chamber -- you don't need it if you premix .

anyhoo, it sounds like your tps is not calibrated. it's really easy to reset.

Yea, Well so far I have my PVC valve hooked up (takes 2 spots near the fire wall)
I have my FPR hooked up.
I dont yet have the dizzy hooked up, but will(one spot)
I run pre-mix.

Funny as hell thing though, after about 5 mins and ran some throttle body cleaner with light lubricant through the old BACV hole, and it idle PERFECT!!? at 900rpm.
Even my gf was dumbfounded asked what the hell I did. My guess is it warmed up a little, and I advanced the dizzy a hair too. I do have the other vacume ports capped, but I suspect 1 leaking (under brake booster line).

I was quite happy about this when it finally idled.

Oh and will the trans mount, when shot, ripped and broken, mike a sort of grinding noise when you hit bumps? I drove around my house in the lawn and I heard it kinda clunk and grind, damn thing. This happened when I was putting my engine back in.
