GSL-SE fuel system question...

i'm looking at this GSL-SE for sale, and the owner says "It has syncopation in the fuel delivery that causes it to rev up and down on its own. Sitting at an idle sounds like some jerk trying to get the car next to it, to race."

how difficult a problem is something like this to fix?

lol, syncopation? sounds like the tps is out of adjustment, its prolly not a big deal. it could also be the secondary throttle plates hanging open too

Do a search...there are some threads in the last two weeks talking about surging SE's. IIRC, it is a solenoid on the drivers side of the intake. A new one is expensive, but used are cheap (albeit you may need to buy 4 to get a working one).

There are some other causes and some really good explanations of how the GSL-SE fuel system works in those same threads.

Talk him down, get it. I had the same problem after setting my tps and everythign I sprayed two cans of carb cleaner into the TB and the ISC and everywhere in the tb. Then after it sat for like 2 hours (i was lazy and watching football), I sprayed a can of wd40 in. After another football game I started it up surging went away!

Good luck

check all the vacuum hoses too split hoses do that.
The ones on the firewall near the exhaust manifold tend to get brittle from heat..
